Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor 7-Day Administrative Visit To The Ga Presbytery

In pursuance of article 27 (20) of the constitution, the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, embarked on a significant 7-day administrative visit to the Ga Presbytery.

The visit commenced with a warm reception at the Presbytery Office, Jubilee House, where the acting chairperson, Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei, the clerk of presbytery, Rev. Isaac Quist, and the dedicated staff of Ga Presbytery welcomed him warmly.

Rev S.N.M Adjei, highlighted Rev. Odonkor’s deep-rooted connection with the Ga Presbytery, citing his prior engagements and esteemed positions within the Presbytery.

The Human Resource Manager of the Presbytery, Mrs. Nana Aba Adom Malm, made an insightful presentation acquainting Rev. Odonkor with the Presbytery’s staff and recent undertakings. Following this, Rev. Isaac Quist, the Clerk of Presbytery, presented an overview of the Ga Presbytery.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Dr. Odonkor underscored the symbiotic relationship between the General Assembly Office and the Ga Presbytery, hailing the Presbytery’s pivotal role in the church’s growth and financial stability. He emphasized the importance of staff welfare and urged investment in skill development to enhance institutional capacity.

He encouraged the Presbytery to actively participate in the upcoming Bicentennial celebration of the church. The Clerk proposed the establishment of centenary congregation in commemoration of the 2022 Presbytery centenary celebration.

During the interaction session, Rev. Dr. Odonkor fielded questions on various topics, including the potential elevation of “Trinity Insurance Brokerage” and GAP Microfinance into full-fledged entities.

Addressing inquiries regarding marriage ceremonies during Lent season, Rev. Odonkor affirmed the discretion of ministers while expressing personal support for low-key celebrations in line with the solemnity of the season.

Rev. Dr. Odonkor’s itinerary includes visits to the various zones created for the purpose of the visit.

The 7-day tour symbolizes a renewed commitment to collaboration, growth, and stewardship within the Presbyterian community, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing journey of faith and service.

He proceeded to the GAP Microfinance, where he had a brief interaction with Board members and staff. The clerk continued his tour to zone one
