Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei has successfully handed over as Clerk of Presbytery to Rev. Isaac Quist at a brief ceremony held on Thursday, 1st September, 2022 at the Ga Presbytery Office, Kuku Hills, Osu.
This is in fulfilment of Article 22(11) of the PCG Constitution which states in part that “The Presbytery Clerk shall assume office on the first of September in the year of his/her election.”
Rev. Nii Adjei Mensah joined the ceremony via zoom and thanked the Chairperson of Presbytery, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Lay Representative to the General Assembly, Mr. Ludwig Hesse, Presbytery Session Council, Agents and all members of the Presbytery for their support during his tenure as Clerk of Presbytery. He pledged to offer all necessary support to his successor.
Rev. Ebenezer Nii Adjetey Sowah, who acted in the absence of Rev. Nii Mensah Adjei, handed over a Bible, a Presbyterian Hymn Book, the PCG Constitution and the Chronicle of the Presbytery to the new Clerk.
Rev. Lt. Col. A.L.A. Hammond congratulated Rev. Quist on behalf of all the District Ministers and wished him a successful tenure. The Lay Rep to GAC, Ing. Ludwig Hesse also congratulated Rev. Quist and charged him to work assiduously to help better the numerical growth of the Presbytery.
The Chairperson then led the gathering to pray for Rev. Quist and his family.
An official introduction to the Clerk’s office was done.
The ceremony was attended by Agents of the Church, Lay Representatives of the Districts, Family Members, Staff and Friends of the Presbytery.
