Presbytery Implements Mandatory Medical Screening for Agents and Spouses

The Ga Presbytery has commenced its mandatory medical screening for agents and their spouses as part of efforts to promote health and well-being among its members.

On Monday, 3rd March 2025, agents and their spouses from Zone 1—including Accra Central, Accra New Town, Adabraka, Nima, Kaajaano, La, Osu, Taifa, Dzorwulu, Kuntunse, and the Ga Mission Field—visited the Presbytery Office to undergo the screening.

Medical officers from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital were on-site to conduct vital checks and collect samples for comprehensive tests, including Full Blood Count (FBC), blood glucose, liver and kidney function tests, hepatitis B screening, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing, and Pap smears.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, the Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Isaac Quist, emphasized the necessity of prioritizing health.

“This is a General Assembly decision, and it is crucial for us to take an active interest in our well-being as we serve in God’s work,” he stated.

The screening exercise continues on Tuesday, 4th March, at the Tema Zone and on Wednesday, 5th March, at the Fafraha Zone.

Screening Locations:

Tema Zone: Tema Community 1, Tema Community 2, Sakumono, Tema Manhean, Tema North, Teshie, Nungua, Ashaiman, Ashaiman North, Sebrepor.

Fafraha Zone: Madina, Haatso, Abokobi, Ashaley Botwe, Atomic Hills, Oyibi, Adentan.

All agents and their spouses in these zones are encouraged to participate in the exercise.
