Moderator ends Pastoral visit to Ga Presbytery

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has ended a ten-day Pastoral visit to the Ga Presbytery. The visitation started on Saturday, 18th June, 2022 and ended on Monday, 27th June, 2022.

The Moderator visited all the 28 Pastoral Districts and one Mission field within the Presbytery where District Ministers presented situational reports of their stewardship.

The purpose of the visit was to acquaint himself with the progress of mission work in the Presbytery. The Moderator also visited some Presbyterian educational institutions, both basic and senior high within Presbytery. He also paid courtesy calls on some prominent personalities including the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey, former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Very Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey and the Abokobi Mantse, Hon. Nii Samuel Adjetey Mohenu.

According to the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, this is the first time a sitting Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has paid a Pastoral visit of this nature to the Ga Presbytery.

Speaking on the last day of his visit on Monday, 27th June, 2022 at the Ramseyer Congregation, Taifa, the Moderator expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the Presbytery led by the Presbytery Chairperson for moving with the Vision 1.5 agenda which has resulted in massive church growth in the Presbytery.

The Moderator also commended the Presbytery for keeping the Church alive in spite of all the challenges posed by COVID-19 and other factors.

Rt. Rev Prof. Mante took the opportunity to explain the new financial arrangement known as 50/50 to the Church members and urged Agents of the Church to help mobilize more funds to support the church at all levels.

The Moderator was accompanied by the Ga Presbytery Chairperson Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Mrs. Florence Mante, wife of the Moderator, the Public Relations Officer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. George Larbi, Ing. Ludwig Kofi Hesse, Ga Presbytery Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council, Rev Nii Mensah Adjei, Presbytery Clerk and some other Ministers within the Presbytery.
