In a ceremony resonating with the joyous spirit of the Children’s week celebration, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Immanuel Congregation in the Madina District witnessed the induction of the Ga Presbytery Children’s Service Executive Elects into office on Sunday, February 25th, 2024.
Delivering the sermon on the theme: “Jesus Christ, the Alpha and the Omega: The Hope of the Child.” Reverend Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei emphasized the pivotal role of Jesus Christ in shaping the lives of children.
During his sermon, Reverend Adjei offered poignant counsel to Children Service Teachers and parents, urging them to instill in children the foundational principles of the Christian faith. He stressed the importance of teaching children who Jesus is, imparting the true gospel, nurturing their dependence on God, and cultivating virtues such as faithfulness and accountability.
“Teach them Christ’s ways and not only teach them, but demonstrate it to them. It should be made practical by exemplary character,” Reverend Adjei affirmed.
Furthermore, he underscored the significance of positively impacting lives and making a conscious effort to shape young minds towards righteousness and spiritual growth.
Assisted by Rev. Andrew Shardow, the Director for Church Life and Nurture (CLAN), Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei, the acting Chairperson, conducted the induction ceremony. Samuel Anokye, from the Taifa District, assumed the role of President, while Hestia Naa Okailey Kenu from the La District was inducted as Secretary. Gideon Jin Otu from the Accra New Town District assumed the role of Treasurer. Their tenure is set to span from 2024 to 2026.
Furthermore, Robert Markwei Marmah from the Teshie District was designated as the Secretary Representative, and Raymond Adams from the Accra New Town District assumed the responsibility of President Representative, both entrusted with serving a one-year term.
As the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Ga Presbytery embraces a new chapter in its Children’s Service leadership, the community looks forward to witnessing the transformative impact of faith and mentorship on the lives of its youngest members.
