On Sunday, 20th October 2024, the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana launched the “Agenda 2 Million and 1 Thousand Churches” initiative. The launch, held at the Trinity Congregation in the Tema North District, marks a significant step in the church’s commitment to expanding its reach and deepening its mission.
The “Agenda 2 Million” plan aims to grow the church’s membership to two million members, while the “1 Thousand Churches” target focuses on establishing 1,000 new congregations. This dual effort seeks to energize evangelism and community development, empowering local congregations to play a more active role in the spiritual and social lives of their communities.
The event brought together church leaders, members, and community stakeholders, all of whom rallied around the goals of this visionary initiative. Ga Presbytery hopes that this drive will not only boost church attendance but also encourage greater Christian outreach and support to society areas.
In a sermon, the Chairperson of the Presbytery, Rev Col David Adoteye Asare, emphasized the importance of spiritual growth alongside practical community service, encouraging members to contribute actively to the church’s mission.
The launch of this initiative signals the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s commitment to sustaining its growth and influence within the nation, providing both spiritual guidance and community support in an ever-changing social landscape.
