As part of the Presbytery’s 90^th Anniversary Celebration, a choral concert was organised at the Immanuel Congregation, Madina on Saturday, 14^th January 2012. Among the choirs that participated in this programme were the Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon, the Levite Choir(University of Ghana), Basel Chorale, the Ga Presbytery Choirs’ Union, the Kaneshie Youth Choir, The Singing Band, Tema Manhean and the Ga Presbytery Singing Band Squad.

Welcoming the audience Rev Dr. G. Nii Noi Odonkor thanked God for the faith and work of the pioneers of the Presbytery. He paid tribute to all past officers of the Presbytery and challenged all to do their bit for the Presbytery.

The programme was massively attended by various congregations in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Among the Ministers who attend the programme were, Rev. Dr. Godwin N. N. Odonkor, Chairperson of Presbytery, Rev. Rose Teteki Abbey, Clerk of Presbytery,
Rev. E. Kissiedu-Ayi, Chairman of the 90^th Anniversary Planning Committee and Rev. Enoch Pobee, Madina District Minister. Members of staff of the Ga Presbytery office were present to support the programme.

The Choral groups rendered gospel music of praise that edified the soul.

The Clerk, Rev. Rose Abbey in her closing remarks indicated that the programme has indeed been a huge success as all the participants had truly been blessed by it. Rev. Dr. Odonkor then said the closing prayer and gave the benediction to end the programme.

Ga Presbytery Staff Celebrates Christmas

The Staff of Ga Presbytery organized a maiden Festival of Lessons and Carols to commemorate the Christmas. The event took place on Friday 16th December, 2012 at the Chapel of the Jubilee House. The Presec, Osu Choir was in attendance and they provided melodious carols to usher all into the Season. The revelation of the day was the outdooring of the Ga Presbytery staff Choir. The Choir, made up of the members of Staff of the Presbytery, rendered melodious carols at the service. In a Christmas message, the Presbytery Chairperson asked all to celebrate the birth of Christ with thanksgiving and praise to a God who has been there for us throughout the year. He challenged all to think of the many people who, like the parents of Christ, have nowhere to lay their heads, the numerous street children and the disadvantage in society. He also called for a thought for men and women who are serving our country and humanity in general by keeping the peace in place far away from their homes.

Among the numerous persons who graced the occasion where District Ministers, Mr. E. O. Adjetey, a renowned Architect , Mr. J.N.D Tetteh, M.D of Merchant Bank, Mama Dankwa and Mrs. Sophia Holm of the PCG National Women’s Fellowship, Mr. Ludwig Hesse of the National Children’s Ministery and Rev. Esther Adjetey, Director of the Women’s Centre. Abokobi.

Ga Presbytery Fetes Retired Agents

The Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery held a Christmas party for all retired agents residing in the Presbytery. Sixty (60) retired Ministers and Catechists attended the party which was held at the Jubilee House, Osu.

In a welcome address, the Rev. Dr. G.N Odonkor Chairperson of the Presbytery thanked the retirees for their services to the Church. He said that even though they have retired, the Presbytery will continue to fall on them to tap their experience and knowledge. He wished them a joyful Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Thanksgiving

On 15th April, 2012 thanksgiving service will be held at Madina Immanuel/Presec Osu as part of the 90th anniversary.

Fun Games

90th anniversary games fun games and the venues will be Elwak and Zonal level per Anniversary lunch. This will be held on 10th/17th March, 2012.

Blood Donation

A blood donation exercise with be organized at Osu Ebenezer and Tema Community one respectively on 6th March, 2012. This forms part of the programmes lined up for the 90th anniversary celebration.
