Ebenezer Preaching Point elevated to Congregational Status

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Ebenezer Preaching Point at NIC-Top, Ablekuma in the Kaneshie District of the Church has been elevated to Congregational status.

The well attracted ceremony was officiated by the District Minister of Kaneshie, the Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor assisted by the Kaneshie District Clerk, Mr. Kingsley Amankwah.

Rev. Dr. G. N. N. Odonkor in a short exhortation on the theme: “The Anointing of the Holy Spirit” (1 John 2:20, 27) to perform the elevation rite, congratulated the founding members, both living and dead, for the work in establishing the church in the area.

He added that the new crop of generation should also do their best to evangelized and win more souls into the church.

The District Minister challenged his colleague Minister in-Charge of the new Congregation, the Rev. Prof. Benjamin Abotchie Ntreh, as well as his Session to put measures in place to encourage members of the Congregation to embark on evangelism in Ablekuma and its environs to reach out to the unreached with the Good News, hence winning more souls into the church.

In response, Rev. Prof. B. Abotchie Ntreh promised that with the help and support of the entire congregation, they will expand their territory and increase their membership in the coming months.

He thanked the District Minister and the District Standing Committee for elevating them to a Congregational status which he termed as a way to motivate and encourage members of the Congregation to see themselves as a matured Congregation in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

The ceremony attracted former Ministers who have worked within the Kaneshie District – these include, Rev. Lt. Col. Rtd. Kwasi Oteng, Rev. Ernest Koranteng (now District Minister, Osenase) and many others.
