Aplaku District Elevated

The Aplaku District was been elevated to a District status at a colorful ceremony held at the Christian Methodist Senior High School.

The service was officiated by the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Victor Okoe Abbey and assisted by the Rev. William Quaye, Clerk of the Presbytery.

The immediate past Upper Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Esmond Wasau Nagba was also inducted into office as the Minister in- charge of the New Aplaku Grace congregation and at the same time the District Minster of the Aplaku District.

The Aplaku District is made of congregations from Accra Central District, Dansoman District, Kaneshie District and the Adabraka Official Town District and they are: Grace New Aplaku PCG, Mt. Zion PCG, Prince of Peace PCG, Galilee PCG, Mt. Sinai PCG, Nyormo Dromo PCG, Zion PCG, Emmanuel PCG, Bethel (Bortianor) Preaching Point, Bethel (Mountain View) preaching point, Royal Preaching Point, Christ the King Preaching Point, Christian Family Preaching Point and Milli City Preaching Point,

Rev. Victor Okoe Abbey in his sermon on the theme: ‘The Word of Life’, praised and appreciated the entire members of the Aplaku District for the good work done, adding that their new status as a District should encourage them to step out to the unreached in their community.

“You are elevated today as a District in the Ga Presbytery to go out and make disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ”, he stressed.

He pointed out that the Lord gave out His Word for the Church to capitalized on and cause a change with it in our deplorable societies.

The Chairperson noted that society will not feel the true impact of the Church, if Church leaders and members do not share the Word of God with others, so they can come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He reminded members of the Aplaku District of the ecclesiastical theme of the Church which is the “Anointing of the Holy Spirit’ and asking them not to sit down idle after receiving the spiritual anointing of the Lord upon their life which is for service, but rather go into the world to transform it.

ACT OF ELEVATION

Rev. Victor Abbey performing the act of elevation for the New District. In his preamble, he charged the leadership of the Aplaku District to focus on building up their members to be matured Christians, ready to take up the mantel of being salt to a decaying world and light to a dark world.

“Allow yourself for God to use you in His Kingdom business, hence expanding your barriers” he noted.

INDUCTION OF DISTRICT MINISTER

The Rev. William Korley Quaye, the Clerk of Presbytery after reading out the CV of Rev. Esmond Wasau Nagba presented him to the Chairperson for induction. He was charged to be a good leaders who will command respect and enjoy the free room to work for the Lord.

ADDRESS BY APLAKU DISTRICT MINISTER

The Rev. Esmond Wasau Nagba in his address thanked the Ga Presbytery, General Assembly, Grace Congregation and the New District for the confidence reposed in him. Adding that the work will demand the support of all.

“Hence you should feel free to criticize me and the District Session Council when necessary for the good of the Church of Lord”, he pointed out.
